Sakina Bedi, Chief Spokesperson and Cause Advisor for Education and Career Development at the National Federation of Blind Maharashtra (NFBM), a remarkable individual who herself has been visually impaired since birth, graced the occasion with her inspiring presence. As Sakina’s life and work is dedicated to improving the lives of the visually impaired, her long-standing association with the NFBM Jagriti School for blind girls, where she has been actively contributing since July 1999, has been transformative.
Under Sakina’s guidance, the school has become a model institution for education and career development for visually impaired girls. Her vision also extended to launching a best-in-class music academy, enriching the lives of students with holistic development opportunities. Beyond infrastructure, Sakina Bedi has played a critical role in planning and implementing various career-oriented projects for the students of Jagriti School, helping them develop not only academically but also personally and professionally.

Deepak Shikarpur, a well-known technopreneur and writer, also graced the event. His presence at the event highlighted the growing need for integrating technology with educational solutions for the visually impaired.

This event reinforced Fidel’s ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive society, where individuals with disabilities, particularly those who are visually impaired, have access to quality education and career opportunities. By supporting the Braille book project, Fidel demonstrates its dedication to breaking down barriers and making education accessible to all.

Both Sakina Bedi and Deepak Shikarpur delivered speeches that left a lasting impression on Fidel`s team. Sakina spoke about her personal journey and her passion for advocating for visually impaired students. She emphasized the importance of Braille in ensuring that these students receive the same level of education as their sighted peers. Her words of determination and perseverance were truly inspiring.
